I am thinking about going in to mixed martial arts
mixed martial arts, but im not sure what to take. Is it better to take Muay Thai for two years and then continue it with Brazilian Jiu Jitsu or should i just take mma classes?. Im 5'9 169 pounds.

If you can do it, then try each option and see which one you like. In other words, try a muay thai class, try a BJJ class and then try an MMA class. Once you've tried each class, you should get a sense of:

1) Which class you like
2) Who are the better teachers
3) What your strengths and weaknesses are (Are you a striker or grappler?)

So if you find that you're a striker and the muay thai instructor is a good instructor, then go with that option, and pickup the BJJ later on.

I find that most people get overwhelmed by learning too much at one time.
